CDT is part of the Technology Department which consists of:
MVM, Design & Graphics, Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Skills 4 Working Life, Food Technology and Music.
Pupils are expected to follow all `Health & Safety’ regulations and use provided protective clothing and equipment with care.
Pupils are expected to achieve 2/3rds of a level improvement each year during Key stage 3 and external accreditation from the courses provided in Key Stage 4.
The CDT Dept was recently refurbished when we achieved Technology Status, the room has been designed to provide a flexible, well equipped facility to develop to the full creativity, imagination and engineering skills.
The students develop skills from Design to production of the final item. Some of the practical activities include `Bird Boxes’, `Marble Mazes’, `Robotics’, `Light Sensors’ etc... We have also hosted a Robot Wars Day which all students and staff took part in.
