Food Technology is a practical hands on subject with students having practical activities every other week. It is a very popular subject and since gaining `Technology’ status the subject has been focussed on providing skills to enable pupils to produce good healthy meals for themselves and others.
The `IMPACT’ this subject has had since gaining `Technology Status’ has been tremendous. We have achieved with close cooperation with our work experience and transition coordinators, Chef of the Year and Birmingham City College of Food & Tourism, we have currently 3 students following courses at the College of Food.
Our students regularly experience working with the school Chef to provide catering for meetings, open days etc at Hunters Hill.
Pupils are expected to arrive on time, ready to work.
Pupils are expected to follow all `Health & Safety’
regulations and use provided protective clothing and equipment with care
Pupils are expected to achieve 2/3rds of a level improvement each year during Key stage 3 and external accreditation from the courses provided in Key Stage 4..
